SEAMLESS MARBLE WALL FINISHES

Transform walls into marble.

Seamless marble wall finishes, individually created for your space.

What Is MarbLayer?

Marble, created differently.

MarbLayer creates bespoke marble inspired finishes directly across suitable architectural surfaces, giving you the visual movement, depth and impact of marble without installing traditional full stone slabs.

Not printed panels. Not wallpaper. Every finish is individually created.

Handcrafted

Every finish is individually created by hand.

Built for real spaces

A considered decorative surface system designed for residential and commercial interiors.

Extraordinary character

Depth, movement and visual variation are developed to suit the room.

Considering Natural Stone?

Considering a traditional marble wall? There may be another way.

Natural marble is extraordinary. But creating a full marble wall can involve more than choosing the stone. Fabrication, transport, weight, handling, joins and specialist installation can all become part of the project.

MarbLayer approaches the same design objective differently.

Seamless

Create continuous visual movement without designing the composition around individual slab dimensions and grout lines.

Bespoke

Control colour, movement and character around the architecture, fittings and design direction of the room.

Lightweight

Create dramatic marble impact without covering the wall in large pieces of natural stone.

Smarter Project

Reduce fabrication, transport and heavy slab handling. This can simplify access, site logistics and associated costs.

Two different ways to create a marble interior.

We’re not saying one is universally better. We’re saying you now have another option worth considering.

Project requirements vary. Natural stone construction, substrate preparation and installation methods depend on the selected material, format, site and design.

Composition

Every wall becomes its own composition.

Control vein placement, movement, colour and flow to complement your architecture, fittings and interior palette.

A Smarter Project Path

Beautiful shouldn’t have to mean unnecessarily complicated.

By removing the need to purchase, fabricate, transport and install large quantities of premium natural stone, MarbLayer removes several major project cost drivers and can offer a more cost effective route on suitable wall projects.

Less heavy slab handling. Less fabrication logistics. More of the project investment goes into creating the finished surface.

Actual pricing depends on wall size, condition, preparation, access and finish complexity. We assess each project individually.

About MarbLayer

Marble is nature’s artwork. The wall becomes our canvas.

MarbLayer is a Brisbane based specialist surface studio creating handcrafted marble effect wall finishes for residential and commercial interiors across Brisbane and South East Queensland. We work with homeowners, interior designers, builders and commercial clients to develop finishes that respond to the room, its lighting and surrounding materials.

Craft

Created by hand with attention to movement and detail.

Design

Built around the architecture and visual direction of the space.

Precision

Surface condition, preparation and scope are considered before work begins.

Individuality

No two compositions need to be exactly the same.

From Brazil to Brisbane

Brazilian craft. Developed for Australian interiors.

MarbLayer began with two Brazilian brothers, Nick and Mike, combining years of hands on residential property experience in Australia with specialist marble effect knowledge and techniques developed through Brazil.

Explore our Brazilian foundation

Mike’s broader experience in painting, plastering, residential maintenance, renovation and property improvement was developed through years of hands on work in Australia. His time in Brazil added a specialist layer of knowledge focused specifically on marble effect decorative finishes.

In Brazil, Mike completed Suvinil’s formal Marble Effect training, combining theoretical instruction, practical application and training in real working environments. Following the course, he continued working alongside specialist decorative applicators, gaining further hands on experience with different professional systems, materials and application techniques used in premium marble effect finishes.

MarbLayer brings those two foundations together: practical experience working in Australian homes and specialist decorative surface knowledge developed through Brazil. Each finish is then composed around the room, its lighting and architecture, with handcrafted movement unique to the space rather than a fixed repeated pattern.

Mike Co-founder · Lead Surface Applicator

Mike leads MarbLayer’s surface development and application. He brings years of hands on experience in Australia across painting, plastering, residential maintenance, renovation and property improvement. Building on that practical foundation, he developed specialist marble effect knowledge in Brazil through formal Suvinil Marble Effect training and continued hands on work alongside specialist decorative applicators.

Nick leads MarbLayer’s design experience, technology, brand and project systems while training and working alongside Mike in the application process, connecting the craft with a considered client journey from first idea to finished wall.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions before you start.

Practical answers about suitability, care, wet areas, customisation, pricing and the project process.

What is a MarbLayer finish?

MarbLayer is a handcrafted decorative wall finish designed to create the visual depth and movement associated with marble. It is not a natural marble slab or printed wall covering.

Can it be applied to any wall?

Suitability depends on the existing substrate, wall condition and location. We assess these factors before confirming the scope and preparation required.

Can colours and veining be customised?

Yes. The colour palette, movement and veining direction are discussed as part of the design and quoting process.

What affects price?

Pricing depends on the wall size, existing condition, preparation requirements, access and complexity of the selected finish.

How long does a project take?

The timeframe depends on preparation, wall size and finish complexity. An estimated schedule is provided after the project has been assessed.

Do you work with builders and designers?

Yes. MarbLayer welcomes enquiries from homeowners, interior designers, builders, architects and commercial project teams.

What area do you service?

MarbLayer is based in Brisbane and services projects across Brisbane and South East Queensland. Projects outside this area can be discussed individually.

What should I include in my enquiry?

Send photos of the wall and surrounding room, approximate dimensions, the project location, intended timeframe and any finish references you like.

How durable is a MarbLayer finish?

MarbLayer is designed for long term decorative wall use when the substrate is sound and the system is correctly prepared, applied and protected. Performance varies with the location, wall condition, impact exposure, moisture, cleaning and the selected finish, so the appropriate preparation and protective system are confirmed for each project.

How do I clean and maintain it?

For protected decorative finishes, routine care is generally gentle: use a soft dry or lightly damp microfibre cloth, deal with spills promptly and avoid harsh acidic, strongly alkaline or descaling cleaners. Care guidance is provided for the specific finish and protective system used on your project.

Is MarbLayer suitable for bathrooms or wet areas?

Selected finishes can be considered for bathroom and kitchen vertical surfaces where the substrate, preparation and protective system are appropriate. The decorative finish does not replace compliant waterproofing or required substrate preparation, and areas exposed to direct or persistent water are assessed individually before suitability is confirmed.

What happens if the finish is damaged?

The surface is assessed first. Depending on the location, type of damage and finish, repair may involve a localised blended repair or refinishing a larger area to maintain visual continuity. Because every finish is handcrafted, a completely invisible spot repair cannot always be guaranteed.

How does it compare with natural marble for longevity?

Natural marble and MarbLayer are different materials and should not be presented as having identical service life characteristics. Natural stone can last for generations with appropriate installation and care. MarbLayer is a decorative surface system whose longevity depends on the substrate, preparation, location, use, protective finish and maintenance. It is offered as a different design approach, not as a claim to be natural stone.
